I Love Bramhall caught up with the ever-growing team for a 2019 update and it’s safe to say that there’s certainly been a lot going on at Your Support Team HQ in the past year alone.
After three and half years in business, co-directors Claire Willmott and Hayley Ekgren have seen the company go from strength to strength. In fact, business has been so busy that the dynamic duo has taken on several members of staff, with Tabitha joining as an account manager in 2017 followed more recently by Lubna, Adele and Sandra.
Alongside several new faces at the office on Moss Lane, another addition to the YST family arrived last year – Claire’s baby girl, Fearne. Both working mums, Claire and Hayley wanted to create a supportive working environment for their staff as the business grows, with work-life balance being a priority. As such, everyone is able to work flexibly and spend quality time with their families, so nobody has to worry about missing an important school assembly or being there for a family member in need.
The whole team lives locally, which is both convenient for work and ideal for experiencing everything the Bramhall community has to offer. Both Claire and Hayley regularly get involved in local events – Hayley recently sat on the panel of judges at I Love Bramhall’s very own Paws and Play in the Park event and was honoured to attend the Mayor’s Ball, too! Nothing beats the absolute prestige that comes with taking first place in the Duck Race, though – the trophy is proudly on display in the Your Support Team offices!
As the workforce has grown, so have the premises – Your Support Team have added an extra office to accommodate staff, as well as meeting room, which is used primarily for delivering Xero workshops. A cloud-based accounting software platform that also links up with other software and devices, Xero streamlines financial management for small and medium-sized businesses, removing much of the stress associated with day-to-day tasks like invoicing, payroll and inventory.
From entrepreneurs to small finance teams, Xero can be an invaluable tool in making financial processes more efficient. Hayley and Claire refresh their Xero skills regularly with a whole host of training courses and even attended the annual Xero Conference last November, ensuring they’re up-to-date with all the latest developments and always able to provide maximum value for clients.
Keeping abreast with regulatory changes is another area of Your Support Team’s expertise – the introduction of HMRC’s new Making Tax Digital VAT rules in April meant that VAT returns now need to be submitted using financial software. Thankfully for YST’s clients, Claire, Hayley and the team are completely clued up on the new regulations and have been able to help clients make a smooth transition over to the new system.
