Whether you’re moving house, remortgaging or buying your first home, choosing the right mortgage from the dozens available can be a bit of a minefield. Don’t despair, though – here to help is Bramhall-based independent broker Liz Kay Mortgages.

With more than three decades’ experience, Liz has built up a solid reputation for professional service with that all-important personal touch. It’s been a few years since I Love Bramhall caught up properly with Liz, in which time a lot has changed – we spent some time finding out what’s new at Liz Kay HQ.

                                         Liz Kay

Formerly working out of a room in her property on Ashley Drive in Bramhall, Liz now has a purpose-built office – the first of several changes at the business. We’re invited into the bright and airy garden room, where we promptly meet Wendy Green – no, not that Wendy Green, this Wendy Green handles the admin at Liz Kay Mortgages every Thursday!

In addition to Wendy, Liz now has another team member, Anna, a mortgage adviser who’s in the office a couple of days a week and mobile the rest of the time. Then there’s Mr Gray – not an employee, but Liz’s husband; the couple got married this August – congratulations! And while Liz’s daughter was at high school at the time of her last I Love Bramhall article, she’s now in her final year of university at Leeds, where she’s studying politics and media. Phew!

Aside from the fresh faces and stylish new office, Liz Kay Mortgages retains its core ethos of personal, one-to-one service in a relaxed environment – there are no suits to be seen here, and that’s something that will never change.

Liz prides herself on delivering exceptional, tailor-made customer service – clients can pop by the office or meet up with Liz elsewhere, even in the evenings if that’s the most convenient time for them. Everyone is treated with respect, care and attention, and it’s these values that have ensured Liz’s success since she established the business back in 2008.

A local lady, Liz has lived in Bramhall since the age of four, attending Bramhall High School and going straight into work at the age of 16, earning her qualifications on the job. She worked as a mortgage adviser within estate agencies for years before setting up her own independent brokerage when her daughter was at school, and she’s never looked back.

With her vast local knowledge, Liz is the first port of call for many Bramhall residents looking for a mortgage, as well as for newcomers to the area in need of advice. Through word of mouth, Liz’s reputation has extended beyond Bramhall, across the region and even nationwide – she now has clients all over the country.

Offering initial free, no-obligation advice, Liz welcomes clients of all kinds, from first-time buyers to homeowners looking to move house or switch to a better deal. With access to a vast selection of mortgage products from lenders right across the board, as well as exclusive offers that aren’t advertised elsewhere, Liz Kay Mortgages takes the time to ensure clients are matched with the right products that reflect their individual circumstances.

And when she isn’t helping homebuyers, Liz is active in the local community as a leader of 1st Bramhall Brownies and Guides. Liz started helping out with the Brownies and Guides when her daughter was young and continued even after she’d left! In fact, 2019 marks 12 years of loyal service for Liz, who finds her roles as Brown Owl and Guides leader Sapphire (named in honour of her passion for Manchester City) enormously fulfilling.

Every Tuesday evening is spent with the Brownies and Guides – last year, Liz even took 27 Guides away to Switzerland! Back home, 1st Bramhall Brownies and Guides regularly get involved in community events and fundraising activities; look out for Liz and the girls at Light Up Bramhall on Sunday December 1st, and dig deep – they’ll have their charity buckets at hand!
