We all know a lovely girl, whether it’s our daughter, niece, granddaughter or a friend’s little one, and Bramhall is now proudly home to a business that caters solely for the special little ladies in our lives. I Love Bramhall met up with Louise Owens, owner of online boutique My Lovely Girl, to talk about gifting for girls and the inspiration behind the brand.
Bramhall born and bred, Louise runs her e-commerce business right here in the village, where she lives with her husband, daughter and son. Taking a few years out from her high-flying role in events and publishing to have children, Louise was inspired to set up her own business by her very own Lovely Girl, Georgina, who’s now four, as well as her nine-year-old niece, Mia.
My Lovely Girl stocks all manner of girly goodies, from clothes to stationery, toys to home decor. There’s no shortage of slime or squishies, either – two of 2018’s top trends. Thanks to input from Georgina, Mia and friends’ children – who now refer to themselves as the MLGs – My Lovely Girl is bang up to date on trending items for girls aged from four to 11 and aims to offer competitive prices to suit all budgets.
If you attended Light Up Bramhall recently, you might have spotted the My Lovely Girl stall, which was a big hit with young shoppers and parents alike. Louise has popped up at a number of events recently and her stands never fail to draw in customers looking for quality, affordable bits and bobs that girls just love. By far the best-selling item on sale is the Mermaid Blanket, Louise says, which is both a handy warm blanket and a favourite for the dressing up box.
The selection of products on offer are handpicked by Louise herself (helped of course by the MLGs) and only include items that Louise would be happy to buy herself. Stock is chosen based on quality or, if it’s a fun pocket money item, the product is priced to reflect this.
New product ranges are tried and tested before they make it to the online store and every order is wrapped in pink tissue paper before being hand packed in pink postal bags. It’s this attention to detail that makes all the difference, and My Lovely Girl has received some lovely feedback from customers delighted with these personal touches.
Having a go-to store for girly goods and gifts means that Bramhall residents will always have easy access to the perfect present or just a little something for their lovely girl. Louise is currently offering free same or next-day delivery to the SK7 and SK8 postcodes for a limited time, which is especially handy at this time of year! Of course, My Lovely Girl also ships nationally and postage costs are complimentary on orders over £40.
The business may be just a few months old but My Lovely Girl’s success has spurred Louise on to think bigger – watch this space for news of My Lovely Boy, a brand new boutique for the beloved boys in our lives, which will hopefully launch sometime in 2019. Meanwhile, there’s still time to pick out some stocking stuffers before Christmas arrives – My Lovely Girl also sells a top-quality wooden Christmas Eve box, perfect for getting little ones into the festive mood!
