A relatively new and very welcome addition to Bramhall Village Square, Anytime Fitness is a state-of-the-art gym with a community vibe. I Love Bramhall met up with general manager Arran Perry to hear about what’s on offer at the gym and pick up some tips for those embarking on a fitness journey.
Arran is new to the Bramhall gym – he joined the team three weeks ago from the Knutsford branch and is already charmed by the atmosphere and cleanliness of the village, noting that it’s lovely to see so many people out walking.
Anytime Fitness boasts a well-maintained array of sparkling, top-of-the-range equipment. From free weights of all shapes and sizes to resistance machines and cross trainers, there is something for every workout routine and experience level.
One of the exciting features that sets the Bramhall gym apart from the competition is the downstairs studio, in which a high-tech screen allows members to select a workout video to follow at their own pace. This is also an ideal spot to practise pilates or yoga to wind down after a training session.
The gym is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week – so as the name suggests, you can visit anytime, working your fitness schedule around a busy work or family life. Many members opt to visit in the morning to get their dose of exercise in before work, starting the day off with a burst of energy.
Another way Anytime Fitness provides fitness, anytime, is by giving members access to over 4,000 gyms all over the globe. From Stockport to the States and everywhere in between, members can enjoy the flexibility and convenience of the gym wherever they roam.
There’s no ‘typical’ gym user at Anytime Fitness in Bramhall. People of all ages and fitness levels are very welcome and it isn’t unusual to see retired people working out alongside professional footballers. There’s a relaxed feel in the gym – you can even watch Netflix or listen to songs on Spotify while running on a treadmill.
Arran, an avid rugby player who began working at his local gym at the age of 16, observed that everyone who exercises at the gym has their own reasons for doing so. His word of advice to people looking for a bit of motivation is to remember why you first decided to visit the gym, and focus on what you want to get from it.
Anytime Fitness offers a level of support and assistance unsurpassed by your average gym. There’s an incredible app which holds over 1,100 workout tutorials to follow any time you can’t make it to the gym, as well as inspiring member stories to read on the website and a group of like-minded local people to chat to on social media.
New members are also given a complimentary personal training session to help with getting to know the equipment, finding their feet and the gym and discovering how to achieve their goals. The gym’s small size gives it a friendly atmosphere – making it easy to ask for advice at any time – and a fantastic team of personal trainers help to ensure your workout is effective.
Exercise isn’t the only focus at Anytime Fitness: the gym promotes the idea of a sustainable and maintainable lifestyle change – no quick fixes here – and that comes down to nutrition, too. That’s why you’ll find healthy snacks and drinks in the gym’s vending machine, as well as free fruit on Fridays.
