The highly respected and friendly firm of solicitors, Butcher and Barlow LLP, has over 125 years of experience and has passed from father to son through four generations.
The present Senior Partner is Charles Barlow, great-grandson of one of the founders, John Woodward Barlow who opened an office in Bury, Lancashire, with Samuel Foster Butcher in 1887.
In 2007 Butcher & Barlow merged with the former practice of Taylor, Kirkman & Mainprice to open an office in Bramhall, one of 10 offices across the north west. The partners in the Bramhall office are Justin Kelly, expert in employment, corporate and commercial law and Robert Morris who specialises in private client and property law. Justin is one of the few Notary Publics in the area able to certify foreign documents for use in any legal jurisdiction in the world. Robert has lived in Bramhall for 24 years and this year marks his 25th year with Taylor, Kirkman Mainprice and Butcher & Barlow. He has strong ties to the local community. Robert is a keen tennis player and is an active member of Bramhall Lane Lawn Tennis Club. Nicola Wingfield runs the family law department in the office, having trained with the Firm. She covers all areas of family law including divorce and is a specialist in childcare law. Butcher & Barlow’s Bramhall office has recently welcomed back Nicola Seamarks to strengthen the property department; she is the 150th member of staff across all the offices!
